Days 1-8: Mexico City

After arriving in Mexico, we'll spend our first full day learning about the Aztec capital of Tenochtitlan with a visit to Zocalo neighborhood to see the remaining ruins of the city.

We'll the spend our second full day on a day trip exploring the remains of nearby city of Teotihuacan- the site of some of the Aztecs' first major rivals in the region.

For our third full day in the city, we'll learn about the daily lives of the Aztecs by visiting the floating gardens of Xochimilco before heading to the National Museum of Archaeology.

We'll then spend our fourth full day learning about the Aztec religion on a day trip to nearby Tenayuca- founded by the nearby Chichimec and converted into a religious metropolis by the Aztecs.

We'll then spend our sixth full day in Mexico by learning about how the history of the Aztecs  inspired Mexico's most famous artist with a visit to the Frida Kahlo Museum.

Participants will then get a free day to explore Mexico City on their own and learn more about the local history and culture for their final full day before departure.

Itineraries and daily schedules are subject to change. We expect to do everything listed in the itinerary, though the order may be rearranged based on weather or other local conditions.
