Days 1-3: Atlanta

After arriving in Atlanta, we'll spend our first full day of the trip learning more about the history of the region at the Atlanta History Center before catching live music at Eddie's Attic.

We'll then spend our second day with a tour of the incredible country style home of the Wren's Nest museum before catching more live music at Terminal West.

Days 4-7: Cherokee National Forest

After driving to Cherokee National Forest and setting up camp, we'll catch a show at nearby Down Home music venue.

We'll then spend our first full day in the forest with a visit to the Lost Cove Settlement to learn more about the history of Appalachia before going on a hike on the Benton Falls trail.

For our second full day in the forest, we'll learn more about the history of country music at the Birthplace of Country Music Museum before going for a hike on the Rhododendron Trail.

Participants will then get a free day to explore the national forest on their own or visit some of the local towns nearby.

Days 8-10: George Washington National Forest

After driving to our second campsites and setting up camp, we'll go for a hike on the White Rock Falls Trail.

We'll then spend our first full day in the forest learning more about Appalachian history and music with a visit to the O Winston Link Museum and catching live music at the famous Floyd Country Store.

We'll then spend our second full day in the forest learning more about Appalachian music history with a tour of Garth Newel Music Center and a hike of the Crabtree Meadows trail.

Days 11-14: Richmond

After driving to Richmond, we'll spend the evening at a live concert at the Richmond Music Hall.

We'll then spend our first full day in Richmond with a visit to the American Civil War Museum before catching more live music at the Camel.

On our final day of the trip, we'll learn more about the legacy of African-American influence in bluegrass music from the Black History Museum and Culture Center.

 

Itineraries and daily schedules are subject to change. We expect to do everything listed in the itinerary, though the order may be rearranged based on weather or other local conditions.
