Days 1-8: Kigali

After arriving in Kigali, we'll spend our first full day on a day trip to the Elle DeGeneres Campus of the Dian Fossey Gorilla Fund to learn about pioneering work in the research of gorilla conservation.

We'll then spend our second full day on a day trip to Volcanoes National Park to visit the gorillas of Rwanda in their natural habitat and learn more about conservation efforts.

For our third full day in the country, we'll go for a day hike up Mount Kigali to explore the nature closer to Rwanda's capital.

We'll then spend our fourth full day learning more about the other primates in Rwanda with a day trip to the Nyungwe Forest National Park.

We'll then spend our sixth full day in Kigali learning about how Rwanda's nature inspires Rwandan art with a visit to the Niyo Art Gallery before participants get the afternoon off to freely explore the city.

Participants will then get a free day to explore Kigali on their own and learn more about the local ecology and culture for their final full day before departure.

Itineraries and daily schedules are subject to change. We expect to do everything listed in the itinerary, though the order may be rearranged based on weather or other local conditions.
