Days 1-3: Marseille

After arriving in Marseille, we'll spend our first full day of the trip, we'll learn about the history of the French Revolution that launched Napoleon to power with visits to the Memorial De La Marseillaise and the Musée d'Histoire de Marseille.

We'll then spend our second full day on a day trip to nearby Toulon where Napoleon scored the first victory of his career during the Siege of Toulon and forged a future European powers would never forget.

Days 4-7: Milan

After taking a train to Milan, we'll spend our first full day in Milan, we'll explore the impact Napoleon would have on the futre of Italy with visits to the Museum of the Risorgimento and Milan Cathedral- where Napoleon crowned himself emperor.

We'll then spend our second full day in Milan on a day trip to nearby Alessandria to visit the battlefield of Marengo where Napoleon pulled off a miracle and won the most important battle in the War of the Second Coalition.

Participants will then get a free day to explore the history and culture of Milan before heading off to our next city.

Days 8-10: Vienna

After taking a train to Vienna, we'll spend our first full day exploring the Napoleonic history of the city with visits to the Schoenbrunn Palace and the Heeresgeschichtliches Museum.

We'll then spend our second full day in Vienna with a day trip to the battlefield of Aspern-Essling to learn about the War of the Fifth Coalition.

Days 11-14: Brno

Participants will then get to spend a free morning exploring final locations in Vienna before we take an evening train to Brno.

 

We'll then spend our first full day learning more about the context of Central Europe before the Napoleonic Wars with visits to Brno City Museum and the Cathedral of St. Peter & St. Paul.

We'll then continue to learn more about Pre-Napoleonic Europe with visits to the Holasovic Historic Village and the Trebic Jewish Quarter.

On our third full day in Brno, we'll take a day trip to hike around the battlefield of Austerlitz to retrace the steps of soldiers in this War of the Third Coalition battlefield.

Days 15-17: Erfurt

After taking a train to Erfurt, we'll spend our first full day in Germany with a day trip to the battlefields of Jena and Auerstedt to learn more about the War of the Fourth Coalition.

Participants will then get a free day to explore the history and culture of Erfurt before heading off to our next city.

Days 18-21: Leipzig

After taking a train to Leipzig, we'll spend our first full day back in Germany with a day trip walking throughout the city retracing the steps of soldiers in the Battle of Leipzig to learn about Napoleon's greatest defeat.

We'll then spend our final day in Leipzig with visits to Stadtgesichtliches Museum to learn about the impact of the Battle of Leipzig and Napoleon's lasting legacy in Central Europe.

Participants will then get a free day to explore the history and culture of Leipzig before heading off to our next city.

Days 22-24: Brussels

After taking a train to Brussels, we'll spend our first full day in Belgium with visits to the Royal Museum of the Armed Forces and of Military History and the Musee Oldmasters Museum to learn about Napoleonic Belgium.

We'll then spend our second full day in Brussels on a day trip to walk the battlefield of Waterloo to learn about Napoleon's final defeat.

Days 25-28: Paris

After taking a train to Paris, we'll head to the Arc de Triumphe to learn about Napoleon's legacy and the legacy of the French Revolution.

We'll then spend our first full day in Paris with visits to the Chateau de Malmaison and the Musee de lArmee to learn more about Napoleon and his soldiers's lives in France.

For our final day of the journey, we'll explore the Musee Carnavalet for a final lesson on the history of Napoleon Bonaparte and the lasting impact his life would have on European history.

Itineraries and daily schedules are subject to change. We expect to do everything listed in the itinerary, though the order may be rearranged based on weather or other local conditions.
