Days 1-4: York

After arriving in York, we'll spend our first day in England exploring the Yorkshire Museum and King's Manor to learn more about the Tudor Era in the North.

We'll then spend our second full day in York exploring the famous Shambles of York as well as the Guildhall to see reconstructions of Tudor architectural styles and city planning.

We'll then spend our last full day in York on a day trip to Nunnington Hall to learn more about the role of the aristocracy on the often chaotic history of the Tudor Period.

Days 5-9: Birmingham

After taking a train to Birmingham, we'll spend our first full day in the city on a day trip to Stratford-Upon-Avon to learn more about William Shakespeare's childhood and personal life.

Participants will then get a free day to explore Birmingham to learn more about the city's culture and history on their own.

We'll then spend our third full day in the city exploring Blakesley Hall and Selly Manor to see reconstructions of Tudor farmhouses to learn more about the daily lives of the Tudor English.

We'll then spend our last full day in Birmingham on a day trip to the rare moated manor house of Baddesley Clinton.

Days 10-14: London

After arriving in London, we'll spend the afternoon exploring St. Olave's Church on Hart Street- a rare Medieval church that escaped the Great Fire of London.

We'll then spend our first full day in London with visits to the National Gallery and Hampton Court Palace to see depictions of Tudor historical events told through art and architecture.

We'll then spend our second full day in in London with a visit to Westminster Abbey to learn about the impact of religion on the Tudor Period before catching a show at the Globe Theatre.

We'll then spend our last full day exploring the National Portrait Gallery for one final look at the depiction of Tudor England through art.

 

Itineraries and daily schedules are subject to change. We expect to do everything listed in the itinerary, though the order may be rearranged based on weather or other local conditions.
