Days 1-8: Santo Domingo
After arriving in Santo Domingo, we'll spend our first full day exploring the fauna of the Dr. Rafael M. Moscoso National Botanical Garden before spending the afternoon snorkeling at Playa Guayacanes.
We'll the spend our second full day on a day trip to nearby Bayahibe to learn about marine ecosystems in the Caribbean and about marine conservation efforts.
For our third full day in the country, we'll learn all about the Dominican Republic's cave ecosystems with a visit to the caves of Three Eyes National Park before spending the evening getting dinner from El Mason de la Cava- a bar and restaurant tucked inside an underground cave.
We'll then spend our fourth full day learning more about the Caribbean's marine wildlife with a morning visit to the National Aquarium before exploring the seaside neighborhood of Malecon.
We'll then spend our sixth full day in Santo Domingo on a day trip to nearby San Cristobal to explore the secluded beaches of Playa Najayo.
Participants will then get a free day to explore Santo Domingo on their own and learn more about the local history and culture for their final full day before departure.
